Before I believed in God and knew that He is with me, I trusted only myself and faced life’s struggles alone. I was under great pressure and stress as there was no one to support me. My lifestyle was so bad that there were times where I binge-watched Korean dramas and drank alcohol overnight when I could not fall asleep.

However, these are now all in the past. Thank God that I have come to know Him and eventually believed in God on 20 March 2022. I have become a New Creation in God! I once had no self-control – for the past 20 years, I was overweight (100-110kg) and had no strength to cut my bad habits to lead a healthy lifestyle. But now I can overcome my poor lifestyle habits and I have a much healthier body. Also, I no longer need to use entertainment from the world such as Korean dramas and alcohol to help me relax and unwind as I can entrust all things to the Lord. Even if my problems are yet to be solved, I am able to sleep well at night as I have strength and peace in my heart. Moreover, I feel happier and this helped to improve my communication and relationship with my family. The Lord gave me strength to overcome my ‘old’ lifestyle and guided me to the right path.

This is only the beginning of my new journey. I truly believe I have a more important mission to follow God so I need to prepare myself well everyday – in both my lifestyle choices as well as knowing Him more. No matter the circumstances, I know the Lord loves me and I can always rely on Him!

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
