Household of God in Singapore

Vivian

Before I became a Christian, I experienced God answering my prayers. In 1990 during my 3 months’ vacation in the UK with a Christian friend, I stayed with a group of Christians and from them I knew that I can pray or ask Jesus for help anytime and anywhere I want. I also witnessed how God listened to their prayers and how they experienced Him often.

Once, I faced a very dangerous situation in a park. While I was enjoying the scenery, a pervert walked towards me, and the next moment I was being pushed and pressed on the grass. I struggled hard with all my strength and had great fear. I suddenly remembered Jesus and I shouted to Him for help in my heart, saying “Jesus, if you are the true God, help me, help me now”. A while later, a soft voice told me to bite him hard, and an idea of biting on his lips came to me. I did it, and the pervert begged me in great pain to let him go. I asked him to get lost and not to provoke me anymore. He promised and ran away once I released him.

Another time when I could not sleep at night, I prayed to God and asked Him to let me rest, and I slept through the night after the prayer. The next day, I started to read the Bible to know Him more, and the more I read, the more I felt great needs in my heart. I compared my life and my standard of morality with those Christians I stayed with, and I felt hopeless. I strongly felt that I was a sinner. I was not happy at all. God appeared in my heart that time and He called me to go to Him and accept Him as my personal savior. That moment, I was attracted by a verse in the Bible – “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has passed away; behold the new has come.” (2 Cor 5:17) I really long for a new start, a new life! Only Jesus can give me a new life, and so I decided to accept Him as my personal savior.

He is the turning point of my life – I experienced great peace, joy, and hope the moment I accepted Him.
